Paul now confirms that the Holy Spirit is deity and in the Godhead whose essence is God. At the point of genuine belief when the Holy Spirit enters us, He brings a spiritual transformation to us. After giving other reasons for the benefits of the New Covenant we see here that as the Mosaic Law brought bondage to many practices the Holy Spirit brings only freedom. The bondage is the attempts to please God through the various 613 individual laws of the Mosaic Law with no sense of salvation. Freedom is a reality when the Holy Spirit is present in your life. When we embrace this truth, He will guide us through all life’s challenges. Jesus called the Holy Spirit the Spirit of truth Who will guide us into all truth (John 16:13). Therefore, where He is, within us, He is an illuminator of truth, there is freedom from former blindness and darkness.
