Israeli aircraft were scrambled Wednesday afternoon when a Hizballah drone infiltrated northern Israel over the small town of Shlomi 3 km from the Lebanese border – but did not shoot it down. The intruding drone returned to Lebanon unscathed. The IDF in a laconic communique reported that Israeli forces had spotted the intruding UAV when it flew over Shlomi, northeast of the town of Nahariya, but did not explaining why it was not intercepted, or why Shlomi, a small town of 8,000 souls, was not alerted to a Hizballah UAV cruising over their heads. The IDF spokesman also omitted to disclose if the enemy drone was armed.
