Amir’s commentary on the Palmyra arch in DC

Much confusion and sensationalism is flooding the social media at the moment. The sad thing is that it’s the same old trick of the same people who are always on the move to gain more attention and on the way completely confuse the people of God. It’s always about a “harbinger” or a “paradigm”.
A recreation of Palmyra’s Arch of Triumph was unveiled in Washington DC after having been on display in London Dubai and NYC, a few years after Islamic State militants destroyed the original structure.
The 1,800-year-old Roman arch was blown up by the extremist, but a team of archeologists at Oxford University’s Institute for Digital archeology (IDA) set about recreating it, in an act of resistance to Isis’s rampant acts of cultural destruction in Iraq and Syria.
Standing at two-thirds the scale of the original, the arch is made of Egyptian marble and was built using 3D printing technology, based on photographs of the original arch.
Isis captured the city from government forces in May 2015, and progressively damaged its Roman-era ruins, staging mass executions in the ancient amphitheater. In addition to destroying artefacts, the extremist group looted and resold them to fund its activities.
The group also beheaded Palmyra’s renowned antiquities scholar, Khaled al-Asaad, because he apparently refused to reveal where valuable artefacts had been moved for safekeeping.
Pro-Assad forces, who were also accused of looting Palmyra’s artefacts, eventually recaptured the ancient city in March 2016.
The arch historically served as the entrance to the 2,000 Temple of Baal, which was then converted to a Christian church and finally, a mosque.
While having a replica of such a terrible monument, one must remember that it’s not only about America. In fact London was first.
Lastly I want to remind you all that while this one is simply a replica of a gate to an ancient structure that once was even a church, Berlin has the very original altar of Zeus known as the seat of satan from the book of revelation chapter 2 verse 12.. that one is not a smaller scaled replica but the real one!
So before we sensationalize and turn things all about America as many usual do, let’s bring things to the right proportions. A traveling replica of history and archeology related symbol may well surely be a disturbance to many Christians, however, not merely a sign from heaven of the end of America.
Legalizing the killing of millions of unborn babies, producing horrible alternative lifestyles, promoting and exporting perverted content via the American entertainment industry, changing the definition of a family and allowing the gender issue to go out of proportion are much more valid reasons for God to judge America for than this pathetic traveling exhibit.
