The terrorist, a resident of the Jerusalem Arab neighborhood of Anata, approached the two Hasidim, and hit one of them, while pulling a knife from his bag. However, he was unable to stab either one, according to the report.
Upon failing to inflict injury, the terrorist threw the knife away and ran. He was arrested shortly after.
Terror Attacks on the Rise
The incident comes as the number of terrorist attacks on Israeli Jews is rising.
Four terror suspects were captured early Sunday by Israeli security forces and IDF soldiers in connection with the deadly shooting attack this past Thursday in Samaria that left a 25-year-old yeshiva student dead and two others wounded.
Yehuda Dimantman, a husband and father, was killed in the attack, which took place near the Jewish community of Homesh.
On Saturday morning, a Palestinian Authority terrorist stabbed an Israeli man near the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron. Notably, the attacker in this case was a 65-year-old Arab woman. She was arrested and taken into custody without the use of gunfire, and the victim was treated at the scene for mild wounds.
Earlier this month an Israeli man was stabbed and seriously wounded in a terror attack that also took place at the Damascus Gate, a site that is often the focal point for Arab terror attacks on Jews due to its proximity to the Western Wall and the Temple Mount.
Also earlier this month, an Israeli woman was injured in a terror stabbing attack that took place in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Shimon HaTzaddik, known in Arabic as Sheikh Jarrah.
