On the sidelines of the Army 2020 forum, Armenian Defense Minister David Tonoyan announced an unprecedented level of military-technical cooperation with Moscow.

The head of the defense department stressed that no state can be compared in terms of the level of military-technical cooperation between Armenia and Russia. Tonoyan expressed his sincere gratitude for the help of the Russian side in the fight against coronavirus.

They also touched upon the issue of cooperation between the two countries in the field of military education. The republic annually sends cadets and officers to the higher educational institutions of Russia for training and professional retraining, David Tonoyan said.

In 2015, in honor of the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Second World War, the Ministry of Defense held a large-scale military-sports forum “Heir to Victory”, in which all the countries of the post-Soviet space with a total number of more than 500 people took part. The minister did not rule out the possibility of holding an event of this level in Armenia in honor of the 75th anniversary of the Victory this year. ■
