Evidence it was an antisemitic attack

Media confirmed that a mezuzah was at the entrance of the home, which is thought to be how the attacker identified her as Jewish. As further evidence of this crime being motivated by antisemitism, a swastika was painted on the door.

“The initial findings led the Lyon public prosecutor’s office to open an investigation into attempted murder aggravated by the fact that the act could be motivated by an anti-Semitic motive,” the public prosecutor’s office said in connection with the evidence listed above.
