‘To dishonor the memory of the Holocaust and the dignity of the survivor is beyond shame,’ Israel’s envoy says
Anti-Israel activists tried to disrupt an online event commemorating Holocaust victims organized by the Israeli embassy in Berlin, Jerusalem’s envoy to the country said on Twitter Tuesday.
According to Jeremy Issacharoff, the embassy set up an online conference call on Zoom, hosting Holocaust survivor Zvi Herschel.
As Herschel was sharing his memories, anti-Israeli started heckling anti-Semitic slogans and posting pictures of Adolf Hitler.
Despite these efforts, the event continued shortly afterwards, with Issacharoff condemning the actions of the online anti-Semites as “beyond shame and disgrace.”

With all sorts of public ceremonies and meetings — vigils honoring Holocaust victims and survivors included — largely heading online in the era of COVID-19 coronavirus and social distancing, similarly disruptive activities, nicknamed Zoomb-bombing, have become quite wide-spread.
According to the Anti-Defamation League, many Zoom-bombing instances have had a distinctly anti-Semitic character.
In a report earlier in April, it cited a variety of online events that anti-Semitic users disrupted, including a school board meeting, a webinar about anti-Semitism and a Torah lesson.
