These verses are the prelude to denouncing the false teachers and evil leaders in Israel and the world. The society then had denigrated to the point that the Lord took the righteous people out of the world in Israel in order to give them peace as a way of protection. The text says that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come so as to keep them from it. Because the righteous die or in other words, the righteous man is lost; not to himself, his death is a gain to him. The truly righteous are unable to die spiritually because they have made a profession of belief which seals them from eternal damnation. It is important to realize that God is our protector and no man can truly cause fear to the believer. Jesus when sending out His apostles as evangelists He told them not to fear the men of the world just trust God.
Matthew 10:28
28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell (KJV).
