Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh said that “a return to a state of calmness is possible, yet keeping it is in relation to Israeli willingness to stop aggression,” on Sunday.
After an intense day during which Hamas fired more than 700 rockets on Israel and killing at least four Israelis, Haniyeh called on Israel to stop using sniper fire against protesters on the Gaza Strip border and to begin “realizing the agreements about a life with dignity to our people in Gaza.”
