Terror group says seized tech equipment and funds delivered by Jerusalem

Gaza’s-ruling Hamas terror organization claimed Friday night to have busted an Israeli-run spy ring that planned to cause harm in the Palestinian enclave.

“The security services discovered a cell directed by the Israeli occupation as it attempted to conduct sabotage against resistance elements,” the Hamas Interior Ministry said in a statement, cited by the Times of Israel (ToI).

“Over the past few days the security apparatuses detected suspicious activities by a number of people. Consequently, intensive investigations were launched along with surveillance of these people, which led to their arrest after an operation spanning several days,” the statement added as quoted by daily newspaper Israel Hayom.

The terror group further stated to have confiscated technological equipment and a sum of money allegedly paid by Israel to each cell member, Israel Hayom reported.

However, Hamas did not mention how many individuals were apprehended nor provide any evidence to base their assertion, according to ToI.

No other sources have confirmed Hamas’ claims.
