HE ALONE IS WORTHY

If today we were to look into heaven at all of its marvelous characteristics,
there is one that stands out from all the others.

REVELATION 5:12

“In a loud voice they were saying: ‘Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain…’ “

If today we were to look into heaven at all of its marvelous characteristics, there is one that stands out from all the others. The glory of heaven is not its beauty, its safety or its peace, but it is the Person of Jesus Christ Himself. What makes heaven so wonderful is that it is where the Son of God resides in all of His splendor.

Have you ever stopped to consider the fact that the very One who makes heaven so glorious is the One who was slain for us? How can heaven be so beautiful and wonderful when in the midst of it is the Lamb who was slain? What could possibly be so lovely about that? The answer is that Jesus Christ is the One who alone is worthy to have saved all of mankind from its sin at the Cross. It is His worthiness that grants us acceptance into heaven. It is His worthiness that gives the believer forgiveness every single day, and it is His worthiness that gives us hope to continue on until He comes again. On that final day when we appear before Him in heaven, He will receive all the praise, glory and honor due Him because He alone is worthy. As Christians, we ought to follow and obey Jesus because He is worthy. All of heaven and earth, and even those in hell, will agree that Jesus Christ is worthy as every knee shall bow and every tongue will confess that He is Lord and Savior.

If today you are struggling in submission to the Lord, I would say to you, stop now, and obey Him who is worthy. Jesus does not need to earn your respect, earn your devotion or earn your praise for it is due Him for all that He has done.

When at the appointed time we appear before the King of Kings, we will forever be in awe of Him and Him alone. Let us focus daily, not on the benefits of heaven and the beauty of it, but on Him who alone is worthy of our lives both now and forever.
