Iran ready to supply oil, gas needs of Pakistan

SHANA — Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said the country was ready to supply the oil and gas needed by neighboring Pakistan.

Speaking during a joint televised news conference in Tehran on Monday with Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan, Dr. Rouhani said that the Islamic Republic of Iran was ready to provide oil and gas to Pakistan and carry out the required measures to launch a gas pipeline to the country.

According to President.ir, Rouhani underlined the vast potentialities for economic and trade relations between the two neighbors, adding the two sides had agreed on expansion of trade between them, adding the Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to supply Pakistan with oil and gas.

Rouhani also said that Iran and Pakistan would form a joint quick reaction force to combat militant activity on their shared border.

Khan arrived in Iran on Sunday to discuss security and regional issues, Iranian state TV reported.
