BEIRUT, LEBANON (2:45 P.M.) – Iran and Saudi Arabia were confirmed as participants in the “Aman 2017” naval drills held in Pakistani waters on Friday, Jasarat News Agency reported on Friday.

The two foes participated in the opening ceremony on Friday with 34 other countries around the world, as the Aman drills celebrates its 10 year anniversary.

“The multinational exercise AMAN-17 formally commenced on Friday at Pakistan Navy Dockyard, under the aegis of Pakistan Navy with a colorful flag hoisting ceremony with Navy band playing national songs,” the news agency added.

Other countries participating in these naval drills include Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Kuwait, Qatar, Tanzania, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Poland, Maldives, Bahrain, China, Oman, Morocco, Italy, Iran, Indonesia, France, Nigeria, Denmark, Russia, Japan, Italy, Turkey, Iran, South Africa, Malaysia, Egypt, France, Philippines, North Sudan, Brazil, Kazakhistan, Australia, South Korea, Sri Lanka, United Kingdom and United States.
