IRGC munitions warehouses in Syria bombed

December 5, 2019

Warehouses that reportedly stored large amounts of munitions was targeted in Syria’s eastern AbulKamal region last night, not far from the border with Iraq, causing massive explosions. Numerous reports claimed that unidentified aircraft fired several missiles at the warehouses –which reportedly belong to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Cops – located in an airport outside of Syria’s Deir Ezzor governorate.

According to some of the reports, ground forces launched surface-to-air missiles at the attacking planes – yet TV7 was not able to corroborate these reports.

It is important to note that while the IDF spokesperson’s unit does not comment on its clandestine operations beyond enemy lines, except for retaliatory strikes that aim to signal Israel’s resolve against enemy aggression; Syria’s strategic Abulkamal region has been subject to numerous attacks in the past several years that were attributed to the Israeli Air Force.
