Israel’s Knesset decided unanimously on Sunday that every year, on the 24th day of the Hebrew calendar month of Tishrei, the country will observe a national day of remembrance for the October 7 massacre.

Every year, on this day, there will be two nationwide ceremonies. One at 11:00 a.m. to honor the soldiers and security personnel who fell in Operation Swords of Iron, and one at 1:00 p.m. to honor the civilians killed in the October 7 massacre.

The two ceremonies were established by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in cooperation with Transportation Minister Miri Regev.

The Knesset also agreed to hold a one-time ceremony on October 7 of this year to commemorate the massacre.

This year, since the 24th day of the Tishrei falls on Shabbat, ceremonies will be held the following day.
