Israel also reportedly destroyed one of its own spying devices using a drone strike inside Lebanon
Israeli security forces fired tear gas and stun grenades across the border into Lebanon on Monday, near the Fatima crossing close to the Lebanese town of Kafr Kila.
Two men attempted to scale the border fence, which led to an Israeli response. A riot ensued, involving around a dozen young Lebanese men. There were no injuries.
According to Lebanese and Israeli reports, the riot started as Israelis were installing video equipment along the demilitarized ‘blue line.’
Lebanese forces were present on the scene, but they did not engage the Israelis. The UN force tasked with monitoring the ceasefire between the two countries, UNIFIL, was also appraised of the situation.

Local media also reported that an Israeli unmanned aerial vehicle had destroyed one of its own spying devices inside Lebanese territory.
Lebanese news outlet Al Mayadeen said the drone strike had potentially targeted Israeli video recording equipment.
This was not officially confirmed by any of the region’s forces.
“Israeli bombing of Syrian and Lebanese territory is a continuation of the aggression of the ongoing occupation on the Arab nation,” Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qasem said in a statement.
“The nation must put an end its internal differences and unite its ranks to build a strategy that faces the Zionist arrogance supported by the American administration,” he added.
