Military Advocate General Sharon Afek has told an international conference of Judge Advocate Generals on the subject of the laws of warfare, “Israel’s position is that the International Criminal Court does not have jurisdiction to deal with matters relating to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.”
General Afek added, “Israel is a law-abiding state, with an independent and strong legal system and there is no reason for its actions to be subject to the tribunal’s scrutiny.”
