Jason Greenblatt, US President Donald Trump's Middle East envoy.

The White House has denied earlier reports by Israel’s leading newspaper that the “deal of the century” has been leaked.

In a tweet, which referenced a translation and report by The Jerusalem Post about the leak, US Special Envoy Jason Greenblatt wrote, “FYI: our plan hasn’t leaked. Reports like this are inaccurate & just speculation. The article itself even says it may be a hoax. Once again, speculation & bad sources don’t do anything to advance peace. If you haven’t heard it from our team don’t trust it.”

The original article by Israel Hayom cited sources from Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs as allegedly passing around in their online communication an unsigned document that claims to offer insight into the secret peace plan. However, the Hebrew daily noted that it is impossible to know if the details are genuine or perhaps a hoax.

The Jerusalem Post made clear that White House sources had not confirmed or denied the report.

Greenblatt’s tweet was met with a series of comments, most of them calling on the Trump Administration to just release the plan.

“Just release the plan. It will be much fairer to Palestinians than the media assumes — and the Palestinians will reject it regardless,” wrote Joe Schick.

Hugh Lovatt tweeted with a series of clapping hand emojis, “So……please…release…the real plan.”

And a woman identified only as Danale claimed, “I have the same info Sir, it came out of Washington Post apparently.I only can pray that your deal is really not same. The one that supposedly leaked is a real disaster to Israel. Imagine Palestinian prisoners with 8 life sentences walking free….”

The Trump administration was supposed to have already released the peace plan, but at the request of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held off sharing its details until after the Israeli elections. Those took place on April 9.

Now, the administration says it is waiting until the conclusion of Ramadan, which is on June 4 this year.
