Jesus Is The Lamb

Messiah Jesus died on the cross in order to put away sin. Those sins were blotted out by His atoning sacrifice, even as the scriptures have promised. The Bible makes it clear that there is a terrible price to pay for sin.Romans 6:23a "For the wages of sin is death"Matthew 25:46 "And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life."But He also made a way for those sins to be removed:Leviticus 17:11 "For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that makes an atonement for the soul.

"Therefore, God would make this promise:
Isaiah 43:25 "I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake; and I will not remember your sins."Isaiah 44:22 "I have blotted out, like a thick cloud, your transgressions, and like a cloud, your sins. Return to Me, for I have redeemed you."It was the precious blood of the perfect Lamb of God that did this for us.Isaiah 53:5 "But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed."Revelation 1:5 "Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood"According to the requirements of His Word:

Acts 10:43 "To Him all the prophets witness that, through His name, whoever believes in Him will receive remission (removal) of sins."Acts 13:38 - 39 "Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through this Man is preached to you the forgiveness of sins; and by Him everyone who believes is justified, (declared not guilty), from all things from which you could not be justified, (declared not guilty), by the law of Moses."God had said:"Whoever has sinned against Me, I will blot him out of My book." (Exodus 32:33).

But all who place their trust in Him for the forgiveness of their sins will never have their names erased from the Lamb's Book of Life.Because a believer's debt of sin has been blotted out, never again to be remembered, that person's name is now SEALED in the BOOK OF LIFE for GOOD, never to be removed!Revelation 3:5 "He who overcomes shall thus be clothed in white garments; and I will NOT ERASE his name from the book of life, and I will confess his name before My father and before His angels."Jesus said to His disciples, "Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven." - Luke 10:20

Only the names of "the RIGHTEOUS", (the justified, the forgiven and declared to be "not guilty", the pardoned), will be sealed and remain written in the Book of LIFE. The names of all those who are not made righteous, (not justified, not forgiven, still declared to be guilty, not pardoned), because of their refusal to trust in Messiah Jesus for the removal of their sin debt, will NOT remain written.Psalms 69:28 "Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous."This will result in a terrible reality in the Day of Judgment.Revelation 20:15 "And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire."As Hebrews 9:27 also informs us, "As it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment", once a person has left this physical earthly life, the decision has been made permanent.Any person who CHOOSES to bear his or her own sin debt to the grave is said to "DIE IN THEIR SINS".

The problem with this is that no human being can ever pay the price for their own sin. (This is why we needed the Messiah Jesus to be our substitute who took the penalty for us.) If anyone REFUSES the Messiah's gracious offer to pay the price for them, then they have CHOSEN to pay their own sin debt . . . a debt they will NEVER FINISH PAYING. They are condemned to continually pay the penalty for their own sins FOREVER.John 8:24 "Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, (the Messiah, the Savior, Son of God), you will die in your sins."In Mark 9:43 - 48 it reads: "If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life maimed, rather than having two hands, to go to hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched -- where 'Their worm does not die, And the fire is not quenched.' And if your foot causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life lame, rather than having two feet, to be cast into hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched -- where 'Their worm does not die, And the fire is not quenched.' And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out.

It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye, rather than having two eyes, to be cast into hell fire -- where 'Their worm does not die, And the fire is not quenched.'"In this passage from Mark, Jesus quotes Isaiah 66:24 THREE times.Isaiah 66:24 "And they shall go forth and look upon the corpses of the men who have transgressed against Me. For their worm does not die, and their fire is not quenched. They shall be an abhorrence to all flesh."

Whenever Jesus repeats a phrase this way in rapid succession, He does it to dramatically emphasize the point. It is the "verily, verily, verily" of truth. The worm that does not die is the essence of the unbelieving person. The worm is a picture of a sinner's soul. One that has the appearance of corruption and sin. The fact that it "DOES NOT DIE" is a testimony to the fact that this is a permanent state, not a temporary one. The spirit of every person will continue to exist forever. The judged and banished unbeliever is doomed to be an "abhorrence to all flesh", despised and rejected for eternity.Hell is eternal. Once you are there, you are there forever.

2 Thessalonians 1:7b - 9 "when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power,"How very grateful we are that God Himself has provided a solution, for there is not a soul alive who has not sinned.

All people deserved to die and to be banished forever. Praise God for HIS GREAT MERCY!
2 Samuel 14:14 "For we will surely die and become like water spilled on the ground, which cannot be gathered up again. Yet God does not take away a life; but He devises means, so that His banished ones are not expelled from Him."

2 Corinthians 5:21 "For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him."John 5:24 "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that hears my word, and believes on him that sent me, has everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death to life.
"What does it mean to have our name written in the Lamb’s Book of Life? It means that He has blotted out your sin debt, so that your name will be sealed in the Book of Life FOREVER! It means EVERLASTING LIFE!The blessing heard before Yom Kippur is "Gmar Chatimah Tova". It literally means: "A good final sealing." But only trusting in the Messiah will make this a reality! Praise His Holy Name!

Have you trusted Messiah Jesus to put away YOUR SIN?
