Ezekiel 1:28
“Like the appearance of a rainbow in a cloud on a rainy day, so was the appearance of the brightness all around it. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD.”

Once while in Saint Petersburg, Russia, I had the blessing of seeing the most beautiful rainbow that I ever witnessed in my life. I can still see it now when I close my eyes. It appeared after a brief rain. From my right-hand side it looked as though it was rising up out of the city as it reached across the sky descending down into the city to my left. As I stood there, I was overwhelmed with the intensity of its colors and the great width of the bow as it arched across the sky. The clouds were brilliant white as the sun fought its way through. Moments like those are few. When they come, your mind captures the scene in a memory that will come to mind again and again throughout the years.
Ezekiel saw the glories of heaven, and they were greater than all other glories that could be experienced in anyone’s life. If we have been so amazed by the natural beauties of this passing world, how much more shall heaven cause us to stand in awesome wonder of Him who makes even the earth and the sky show forth His grace?
We can only imagine.
