The Middle East moved closer to a wider regional war overnight as the United States launched a second straight wave of strikes on Iran, hitting more than 90 military targets, while the Iran regime retaliated with missile and drone attacks against US bases in Bahrain and Kuwait.
According to US Central Command, American forces targeted air defenses, missile and drone sites, naval assets, and military infrastructure along Iran’s coastline. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed responsibility for strikes on US bases in Bahrain and Kuwait, warning that any further American attacks would trigger an even broader response across the region.
Air raid sirens sounded twice in Bahrain, with state media attributing the alerts to Iranian missiles. Kuwait also activated its air defenses, saying it was intercepting incoming rockets and drones as the conflict spilled across the Gulf.
Israel is now on high alert amid fears it could once again be pulled into the fighting. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz held emergency security consultations, while reports said the US is redeploying aerial refueling aircraft to the region—a strong signal that Washington is preparing for a longer and potentially wider military campaign.
