Referring to former prime minister Ehud Barak’s unilateral pullout of Israeli troops, Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah said on Sunday, “One of the reasons for the victory over Israel in 2000 was the presence of Qassem Soleimani and he shared the victory,” according to journalist Yoni Ben-Menachem.
Writing on Twitter, Ben-Menachem quoted Nasralah as saying, “In 2006, he was with us in the A-Dahieh neighborhood [in Beirut] throughout the fighting.” Israel bombed the Hezbollah neighborhood, which contained command and control centers built over the terror group’s bunkers.
