Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday evening that his reason to oppose the Arab Joint List is not because they are Arabs, but because they reject the core concepts of a Zionist state.

“I am not going anywhere,” he said as the audience in Petah Tikva cheered, “I will lead the Likud.” He joked that even in undemocratic Turkey nobody disqualifies candidates after the elections. “They do it before the elections,” he explained.
