Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke with German Chancellor Angela Merkel in a phone call on Monday afternoon, wherein she reiterated her unreserved support for Israel’s right to defend itself.
The prime minister also thanked the chancellor for her government’s actions against antisemitic elements in Germany. Netanyahu stressed to Merkel that Hamas is committing a “double war crime” by both firing missiles at a civilian population and using civilians in Gaza as human shields.
