It has often been said by bible scholars that the Old testament is the New Testament concealed and the New Testament is the Old Testament revealed. When one studies the deeper subject matter of scripture, one can see that this is indeed the case by supernatural design. A major theme of Old Testament scripture is that of Passover and the lamb.
According to biblical prophecy, an event of shocking magnitude is predicted to soon happen on the earth in which millions of people all over the world will suddenly and mysteriously disappear off the face of the earth and ascend into Heaven in an event known as the “rapture.” Scripture further reveals that the only people who will be taken in this event are those who are “born again”, or those who have personally received Christ.

After this event, global judgment will strike the earth in a horrific seven year period of time called the “Great Tribulation” as described in the book of Revelation and other books of the bible. A further look at biblical prophecy indicates where these disappeared people have gone and what will happen to them thereafter, as indicated and made known in the book of Revelation. It is an event called “the marriage supper of the lamb” that will take place while judgment is occurring on the earth and on those who are left behind after the rapture. The question is often raised as to when exactly the rapture will happen. Are there any biblical clues or events from the past from Old Testament scripture that gives us a picture of when the rapture will occur? Interestingly, there are a few possibilities as portrayed in Old Testament concepts and events from the past. Pentecost is one of those possibilities.
Aside from the plain and evident scripture that describes these events in the New Testament of the bible, the story was told and hidden within biblical events of the past as seen in the Old Testament of what God did and will do in our approaching future. These events are known as types and shadows of what will happen in the future as seen in Ecclesiastes 1:9 and 3:15 …
“That which has been is that which will be, And that which has been done is that which will be done. So there is nothing new under the sun.” ”
“That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past.”
The story of Pentecost and the Bride is rich with symbolism pertaining to the future arrival of Christ to snatch the bride of Christ (the Church) off the face of the earth. The story of the book of Old Testament book of Ruth symbolizes this most stunning soon to come event of the Rapture. It is a central theme to understand what God has done and will do in our future. It is a picture of our (the church i.e. born again believers) deliverance from the wrath to come. But that salvation will be for only those willing to accept that sacrifice in Christ (See video link above “WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE BORN AGAIN”.
It is quite clear and evident that the Old Testament is more than a record of what occurred in the past and more than simply a collection of fanciful stories. They are a picture of not only the events that occurred in the New Testament past, but are also a picture of what will occur in the New Testament future … our immediate and fast approaching future as described in the book of Revelation. Passover and the Bridegroom is a fascinating and revealing display of the destiny of man.
