Political chaos in Israel: The Bigger Picture

This is a conservative evangelical Christian “Zionist… ooooh bad word…” blog so logically I would exepct anyone outside of these views to disagree with me and that’s fine. 🙂

There is growing chaos everywhere and not just in politics. I think anyone who watches the news or scours the Internet knows all about the growing unrest and protests across a number of continents.

In late 2018 Caroline Glick did a fantastic job shredding these charges against Netanyahu and it all still holds true now: https://www1.cbn.com/cbnnews/israel/2018/december/israeli-expert-sees-pattern-in-anti-netanyahu-and-anti-trump-prosecution-tactics

During the course of the last few days I have seen a Christian Israeli that who I hold in high esteem named Amir Tsarfati of Behold Israel make a number of comments over his Twitter feed that ranged from lamentation to exhortation that resonated with me on a number of levels.

I am going to take these tweets and quote them in chronological order because Amir has perhaps unwittingly written a rather impressive mini devotional coming off of this and he says a number of things we all can relate to. I will be adding some remarks of my own along with some relevant links.

All of the following are direct quotes from Amir Tsarfati’s Twitter feed from the dates of November 20-22, 2019. Absolutely nothing has been edited or altered:
There are moments when a citizen can feel ashamed of his country. Today it’s me! Ungrateful country doesn’t deserve great leaders. The past ten years were the best in Israel’s history, yet the liberal deep state chose to find petty reasons to indict our best ever prime minister!

Prime minister Netanyahu is officially indicted by the deep-state gang of our “justice” department. It’s sad to watch the evil doers calling good – evil. I’m reminded of how the prophet Elijah who was the one accused by Ahab as “The Troubler of Israel”! Isaiah 5:20

It’s easier for me today to see how Israel will eventually embrace a man of evil as a messiah….. and it’s obvious to me today that a serious humbling is required before the arrogance and pride of the evil doers will be gone – and then they will say “Baruch Haba B’Shem Adonai!” (Zechariah 12:10 and context)

Deuteronomy 33:12 Of Benjamin he said: The beloved of the Lord shall dwell in safety by Him, לְבִנְיָמִ֣ן אָמַ֔ר יְדִ֣יד יְהֹוָ֔ה יִשְׁכֹּ֥ן לָבֶ֖טַח עָלָ֑יו

Yes, I’m disappointed from the “justice” system of my country. Yes, I believe that we aren’t a real democracy anymore! However, I’m a theocracy fan! Jesus is Lord and will return to reign when Israel will be ready to accept Him! Until then I am longing for my heavenly residence!
Amir Tsarfati of Behold Israel, Twitter, November 22, 2019 after the final statement above.
A big AMEN to Amir’s closing statement preceding his picture. That is absolutely 100 percent the way all Christians should be looking at this. This isn’t our home. We are pilgrims here passing through on a journey. It’s so easy to forget this and become easily discouraged which is something I wrestle with quite a bit every day.

I debated putting that bolded, last exhortation with the picture at the end of the blog but I wanted to keep all of Amir’s comments together. I wanted everyone to appreciate the evolving and flowing narrative that’s been happening here since the news originally broke. I strongly suspected I would see Amir close it all out in that fashion and I was waiting for it. 🙂

I won’t blame you if you stop reading now but there may be some more takeaway for you here down below. 🙂

Quick aside:

I would like to highly recommend this two part study that Dr. Andy Woods of Sugarland Bible Church did not long ago on Zechariah 12. I owe a very special friend of mine a big thank you for bringing this to my attention last month. This is as good of a study on Zechariah 12 as any I have ever run across:

Back on topic:

The bolided text was Amir’s initial tweet after the indictment news broke that resonate loud and clear for a lot of conservative Christians all over the world. Frankly what he’s saying here can be applied to all of the countries of the world logically. Everyone is looking for that “great leader” to fix it all.

Here is what I originally wrote in response to that bolded item back when the news broke:

BREAKING NEWS (what Amir is reacting to): Benjamin Netanyahu IS indicted by the Israeli Attorney General.

Three indictments: Fraud, Bribery, Breach of Trust.

They are also trying to make moves to strip Netanyahu of “parliamentary immunity.” They are going all out to take him down.

I personally find the timing on Gantz giving up forming a government and a mere number of hours later this happening to be HIGHLY suspect and telling.

Amir’s sentiments echo for a lot of us in America after 8 years of Obama or a number of Canadians under Trudeau and so forth.

It’s worsening for all of us and consequently all of our choices for good leaders have steadily declined over time.

Think about when it always come down to “lesser of all evils/holding noses” and so forth. That’s a symptom of something a lot larger.

The spiritiual and emotional culture Amir is lamenting is everywhere.

2 Timothy 3:1-5:

1This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
Note that verse 2 even specifies lack of gratitude like Amir is correctly lamenting about.

Romans 1:18-32 fallout and delusion? All the way. That’s all of our cultures and societies on an ever increasing basis. Take a look at it yet again. This is its own in depth study and I really can’t see how this planet as a whole isn’t at the end of all of this:

Romans 1:18-32:

18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.

20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:

25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:

32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
How are we all not there? I really think we all could name just about any category of culture and society and see it check off against this now. I myself have even done several recent blog posts to this end.I have noted that even some seculars out there are noticing certain symptoms. They know something is wrong but they can’t put their finger on it as to why.

Christians can or at least should be able to if they are studying their Bibles and not excluding 1/3 of the Bible with Bible prophecy which far too much of the church continues to do to its own peril. In regards to Bible prophecy being ignored outright I thought these two recent memes went to that quite well:

CONCLUSION:

Honestly? Scroll up back to Amir’s grinning face and the bolded text preceding that picture. 🙂

God is still on the throne and we all have to remember that. I have to constantly remind myself all the time.

It’s an ever increasing unsettling and unstable time but that is what the Lord said would happen in the season before His return. (Matthew 24, Luke 21, etc.) It’s just not fun to live through to say the least. Remember how it ultimately ends. God has already won and there are no surprises.

Whatever views people may of them, imperfect and all, Benjamin Netanyahu and Donald Trump are the most prominent anti globalist and pro Israel leaders far and away out there.

I have told people for months that I viewed Netanyahu as an early litmus indicator on Trump because they have been such an obvious anti globalist, pro Israel tag team. They stand out like sore thumbs and you either like that or you don’t.

That being said: Whoever God wants in power at a given time will be/stay in power no matter what but if their time is done then this nonsense may be allowed to succeed even here in America.

I am now less confident in Trump having a second term than before but here is why:

I have viewed Trump as having been allowed to be put in power by God primarily for the benefit of Israel more than anything else. (Even though America has had some repreive and benefit.)

Look at Trump’s track record in regards to Israel. It’s remarkable if you are a “pro Israel Zionist/evangelical” etc. Everything from officially recognizing Jerusalem the official capital of Israel on through to the most recent development of recognizing the West Bank settlements (Judea and Samaria) as legitimate.

If Trump is losing his strong partner over there it makes me wonder if God’s plans to “get Israel fully off the ground” are about finished. Israel needed that cover of a strong ally and especially after 8 years of an enemy in Obama. Maybe it’s done. Look at how strong, wealthy, and independent they are now. Even the Arabs are doing friendly business with them and standing against BDS and so forth.

In the last few months alone there has been some astoundingly good economic news for Israel ranging from natural gas and wealth finds, technology innovations, ultimately leading to economic growth second only to a superpower like China. Do they really need anyone to anymore? It doesn’t look like it from where I sit but they did need the cover of a strong ally for a time to get there.

Time will tell the tale of course but I really am wondering if this is the beginning of the end of that now. As in: No longer necessary. By the time major events happen in Ezekiel 38 and Zechariah and so forth “all nations” will be against Israel. ALL. As an American that pains me but I had a sneak preview of it with 8 years of Obama. Antisemitism is getting worse everywhere so sadly it’s inevitable. It’s bittersweet because I also know it’s just yet another sign that the Lord’s return is soon at hand. He HAS to because we are destroying ourselves on so many levels.

A lot of people have made the comment “We need Israel more than they need us” and I would agree with that.

If anyone really thinks this Netanyahu indictment and the dog and pony impeachment hearings (real dogs and ponies would be incredibly superior) against Trump all happening at the same time are mere coincidence then I have a bridge I would like to sell you… on Mars.

I would like to close this myself with a reminder from one of my favorite Psalms. God didn’t recoil yesterday in shock and surprise over the Netanyahu news. 🙂 His plans cannot be unchanged or interfered with.

Psalm 2:
1 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?

2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying,

3 Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.

4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.

5 Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.

6 Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.

7 I will declare the decree: the Lord hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.

8 Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.

9 Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.

10 Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.

11 Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling.

12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.
