Russian fighter jet shadows Israeli airliner on rout to Ben Gurion Airport

A Russian Sukhoi Su-27 fighter Jet on Sunday flew unusually close to an Israir commercial flight on rout from Rhodes to Ben Gurion Airport.
The jet approached the Israeli airliner over Cyprian airspace and followed it at a distance of no more than 1.5 kilometers (1 mile) for a period of time until ordered to disengage by Cyprus air traffic control.
Russian fighter jets have increased their presence over the Mediterranean as part of their deployment protecting Russian troops in Syria.
