Adam and Eve dwelt in a perfect place called the Garden in Eden. They had perfect fellowship with God. There was only one test that God gave to them – do not eat of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. If they did the consequences would be death.
Satan, the Tempter indwelled and spoke through the serpent. The temptation came in the area of disobedience to the Word of God. They ate of the fruit and with that one sin came the Fall of Man bringing death, spiritual separation from God and eventually physical death. Genesis 3:1-6
