The Great Pyramid at Giza

Joseph

Joseph had total control over all aspects of life in ancient Egypt. Further, he walked with the Lord and the Lord worked through him to carry out His plan. Joseph ruled Egypt for  eighty years (80).The Bible does not explicitly say what the Jews were doing during the four hundred (400) years that they were in affliction in Egypt. It does speak of a new Pharaoh and harsh work that was put upon them. Josephus the first century Jewish historian tells us what they were doing.

“for they enjoined them to cut a great number of channels for the river, and to build walls for their cities and ramparts, that they might restrain the river, and hinder its waters from stagnating, upon its running over its own banks: they set them also to build pyramids, and by all this wore them out; and forced them to learn all sorts of mechanical arts, and to accustom themselves to hard labor. And four hundred years did they spend under these afflictions; for they strove one against the other which should get the mastery, the Egyptians desiring to destroy the Israelites by these labors, and the Israelites desiring to hold out to the end under them.” (Antiquities of the Book 2 Chapter 9 verse 1 Whiston numbers 201-204)

There the difficulties in determining exact chronological alignment of secular historical events with the Biblical Chronology.

Manetho

Manetho was a third century B.C. Egyptian historian from whom we get most of our Egyptian history

The Hyksos

The Hyksos were foreign invaders who came to control Egypt, in the 17th century BC and established two contemporaneous dynasties. The 15th dynasty (1674-1567 BC) of the great Hyksos kings dominated the Hyksos vassal chiefs of the 16th dynasty (1684-1567 BC). Egyptians called these kings “rulers of foreign lands,” translated in Egyptian as “hega-khase”. Greek authors later rendered this as “Hyksos,” which was translated as “shepherd kings.” For this reason many scholars believed the Hyksos to be the Hebrews.

The period of their rule was a time of peace and prosperity for Egypt. They respected the native religions, maintained ancient Egyptian as the official language of the government, and allowed many Egyptians to serve in the high levels of the administration of the state. They taught the Egyptians new military techniques and introduced the use of the horse and chariot, previously unknown elements in the Egyptian army.

In a word, it appears that the biblical, historical, and archaeological data are best served by theorizing that it was a Hyksos monarch before whom Joseph stood as an interpreter of dreams (Genesis 41:14-37) and who later ceded a choice parcel of land (Goshen) to Joseph’s family (Genesis 47:6) or the Hyksos were the Israelites under Joseph. According to such a theory, the “new king” of Exodus 1:8 would have been one of the native Egyptian monarchs of the New Kingdom who, as part of his Hyksos purge, resolutely refused to recognize the validity of the Goshen land grant. Discerning in the Israelites a multitude who might very well join with his Asiatic enemies in war, this new king moreover acted quickly to enslave the Israelites.

Caution

As in any study of artifacts related to the Biblical text we must take caution that they do not become the focus of our attention. Our attention must always be fixed on the Lord only. The signs and wonders we see in the Bible are all intended to draw us closer to Him. They are meant to show His power and the wonder of His plan for us and His earth and cosmos. Many have gone astray and begun to follow after those things He has given us in order to direct our attention to Him. One example is the brazen serpent from Numbers 21.

Numbers 21:7-9

Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, for we have spoken against the LORD, and against thee; pray unto the LORD, that he take away the serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people. And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live. And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived (KJV).

By the time of Hezekiah the Jews had begun to worship the brass serpent that Moses had made at God’s command. Hezekiah in his reforms had to eliminate this from the Jews daily life.

II Kings 18:4

He removed the high places, and brake the images, and cut down the groves, and brake in pieces the brasen serpent that Moses had made: for unto those days the children of Israel did burn incense to it: and he called it Nehushtan (KJV).

Similar inappropriate attention has been placed on the Ark of the Covenant, Noah’s Ark,

Did Joseph participate in the construction of The Great Pyramid at Giza?

Reconciling the Egyptian chronology with Velikovsky’s we can see that Joseph might have had a major role in the planning, development or construction of the Great Pyramid at Giza. Further, it is probable that he either served under a Hyksos Pharaoh or he was the Hyksos leader.

Isaiah 19:19-20

In that day shall there be an altar to the LORD in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar at the border thereof to the LORD.And it shall be for a sign and for a witness unto the LORD of hosts in the land of Egypt: for they shall cry unto the LORD because of the oppressors, and he shall send them a saviour, and a great one, and he shall deliver them (KJV).

Chapter 19 of Isaiah talks about the judgment of Egypt during the Great Tribulation and restoration of Egypt in the 1,000-year reign of Christ on earth called The Kingdom.

Jeremiah also speaks of signs and wonders in Egypt put there by the Lord.

Jeremiah 32: 18-20

Thou shewest lovingkindness unto thousands, and  recompensest the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom  of their children after them: the Great, the Mighty God, the LORD of hosts, [is] his name, Great in counsel, and mighty in work: for thine eyes [are] open upon all the ways of the  sons of men: to give every one according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings: Which hast set signs and wonders in the land of Egypt, [even] unto this day, and in Israel, and among [other] men; and hast made thee a name, as at this day (KJV).

How can this altar to the Lord be in the midst of Egypt and at the border of it?

This is actually on the border between upper and lower Egypt and in the middle of the two.

Hebrew Numbering

In Hebrew there are no independent characters to represent numbers. Alphabet letters are used to represent digits. If we add up the numeric value of the words in various verses we find some very interesting information. For example in Isa 19: 19-20 the sum of the digits adds up to 5449.  This is interesting because it just happens to the height of the Great Pyramid in pyramid inches. A pyramid inch is 1/25 of a sacred cubit or 1.00106 of an English inch that we are familiar with.

The Great Pyramid stands in latitude 30, at the center of an area which sweeps the Delta of lower Egypt. Isaiah appears to allude to this massive monument in the following language; “In that day shall there be an altar to the Lord in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar at the border thereof to the Lord. And it shall be for a sign, and for a witness unto the Lord of hosts in the land of Egypt” ( Isaiah 19:19, 20) This witness testimony of the Great Pyramid was only to be made manifest in the latter days.

Isaiah 19:19–20

In that day shall there be an altar to the LORD in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar at the border thereof to the LORD.

And it shall be for a sign and for a witness unto the LORD of hosts in the land of Egypt: for they shall cry unto the LORD because of the oppressors, and he shall send them a saviour, and a great one, and he shall deliver them (KJV).

Here are some facts about this structure…

General:

With modern engineering knowledge this pyramid could not be constructed today!

Until the 20th century this was the tallest structure on earth. It was one of the seven (7) wonders of the ancient world.

The pyramid is estimated to have about 2,300,000 stone blocks weighing from 2-30 Tons each with some weighing as much as 70 tons.

There is so much stone mass in the pyramid that the interior temperature is constant and equals the average temperature of the Earth, 68 Degrees Fahrenheit;

Two types of limestone were used for construction. A soft limestone either pure or nummulitic was used for the bulk of the core blocks and a hard white limestone for the mantle. Hard limestone becomes more polished with age.

The base of the pyramid covers 55 000m2 (592 000 ft2) or 13 acres with each side greater than 20 000m2 (218 000 ft2) in area.

The outer mantle was composed of 144 000 casing stones, all highly polished and flat to an accuracy of 1/100th of an inch, about 100 inches thick and weighing about 15 tons each. The stones are believed to have been stolen by Moslems over the years for use in their mosques.

The average casing stone on the lowest level was 5 ft. long by 5 ft. high by 6 ft. deep and weighed 15 tons.

The mortar used is of an unknown origin. It has been analyzed and it’s chemical composition is known but it can’t be reproduced. It is stronger than the stone and still holding up today.

The cornerstone foundations of the pyramid have ball and socket construction capable of dealing with heat expansion and Earthquakes. Leveling is within a 1-inch tolerance across the base of the pyramid.

There are no hieroglyphics or writing in the Great Pyramid. It has never been used as a tomb.

With the mantle in place, the Great Pyramid could be seen from the mountains in Israel and probably the moon as well. Its polished surfaces would have reflected light like a beacon.

Aligned True North: The Great Pyramid is the most accurately aligned structure in existence and faces true north with only 3/60th of a degree of error. The Paris observatory is 6/360th of a degree in error. The position of the North Pole moves over time and the pyramid was exactly aligned at one time.

Centre of Land Mass: The Great Pyramid is located almost at the centre of the land mass of the Earth.  At one stage in it’s history it may certainly have been. It probably will again in the future be also. The east/west parallel that crosses the most land and the north/south meridian that crosses the most land intersect in two places on the Earth, one in the ocean and the other at the Great Pyramid.

Numbers of relevance:

The length of a base is 9131 Pyramid Inches from corner to corner in a straight line.

The length of a base side at the base socket level is 9 131 Pyramid Inches or 365.24 Pyramid Cubits. Which is the number of days in a year.

Precision of engineering:

The four faces of the pyramid are slightly concave, the only pyramid to have been built this way.

The centers of the four sides are indented with an extraordinary degree of precision forming the only 8 sided pyramid. The effect is not visible from the ground or from a distance but only from the air, and then only under the proper lighting conditions.

The granite coffer in the “King’s Chamber” is too big to fit through the passages and so it must have been put in place during construction.

Microscopic analysis of the coffer reveals that it was made with a fixed point drill that used hard jewel bits and a drilling force of 2 tons.

The coffer was sawn out of a block of solid granite. This would have required bronze saws 8-9 ft. long set with teeth of sapphires. Hollowing out of the interior would require tubular drills of the same material applied with a tremendous vertical force.

If the height of the pyramid is taken as the radius of a circle, then the circumference of this circle is the same as the perimeter of the base. This provided the complimentary squaring of a circle and circling of a square. The key to this relationship is knowledge of the value of Pi and designing the angle of the pyramid to be exactly 51 degrees, 51 minutes, and 14.3 seconds.

Embedded Constants:

Tropical Year or Calendar Year: The length of a base side is 9131 Pyramid Inches measured at the mean socket level, or 365.24 Pyramid Cubits, which is the number of days in a year [9 131/25 = 365.24, accurate to 5 digits]. The perimeter of the base divided by 100 = 365.24, the number of days in a year. [9 131 Pyramid Inches * 4 / 100, accurate to 5 digits]

Mean Distance to the Sun: Half of the length of the diagonal of the base times 10^6 = average distance to the sun

Mean Distance to Sun: The height of the pyramid times 10^9 represents the mean radius of the Earth’s orbit around the sun, or Astronomical Unit (AU). [5813.235565376 Pyramid Inches x 10^9 = 91848816.9 miles]

Mean Distance to Moon: The length of the Jubilee passage times 7 times 10^7 is the mean distance to the moon. [215.973053 Pyramid Inches * 7 * 10^7 = 1.5118e10 Pyramid Inches = 238,865 miles]

Sun’s Radius: Twice the perimeter of the bottom of the granite coffer times 10^8 is the sun’s mean radius. [270.45378502 Pyramid Inches* 10^8 = 427316 miles]

 Earth’s Polar Radius: The Sacred Cubit times 10^7 = polar radius of the Earth (distance from North Pole to Earth’s centre) [25 Pyramid Inches * 10^7 * (1.001081 in / 1 Pyramid Inches) * (1 ft / 12 in) * (1 mi/ 5280 ft) = 3950 miles]

Earth’s Polar Radius: The Pyramid embodies a scale ratio of 1/43200. The height * 43200 = 3938.685 miles, which is the polar radius of the Earth to within 11 mi.

Radius of the Earth: The curvature designed into the faces of the pyramid exactly matches the radius of the Earth.

Equatorial Circumference of the Earth: The Pyramid embodies a scale ratio of 1/43200. The perimeter of the base * 43,200 = 24,734.94 miles, which is within 170 miles of the equatorial circumference of the Earth.

Earth’s Volume: The product of the pyramid’s volume and density times 10^15 equals the ratio of volume to density of the Earth. [10339823.3 cubic cubits * 0.4078994 * 10^15 = 4.21760772 x 10^21 cubic cubits = 259.93 x 10^9 cubic miles]

Speed of Earth around the Sun: The Pyramid Inch times 10^8 = the speed of the Earth around the sun.

Mass of the Earth: The weight of the pyramid is estimated at 5,955,000 tons. Multiplied by 10^8 gives a reasonable estimate of the Earth’s mass.

Average Land Height: The average height of land above sea level for the Earth is 5449 inches. This is also the height of the pyramid.

The Light Equation: The height of the Great Pyramid, minus the height of the capstone represents one millionth the time it takes light to travel the mean radius of the Earth’s orbit around the sun (1 astronomical unit) using 1 Pyramid Inch equals 24 hours (mean solar day). [(5813.2355653 – 103.0369176) /
10^6 = .0057101986+ days = 493.36116 seconds = 8 minutes, 13.36 seconds]

The Velocity of Light: With distance of one A.U. known and the transit time of light for this same distance the velocity of light can be found. [91,848,816.9 miles / 493.36+ seconds = 186,169.5 miles/sec]
