The IDF is preparing for a deterioration in the naval arena as well. According to IDF estimates, the terrorist organization Hezbollah has in recent years captured remotely controlled underwater vessels, unmanned aircraft, precision missiles, and even dozens of coastal missiles that threaten the Navy’s vessels , the rigs, and sensitive and strategic facilities along the coast of Israel.

Among the missiles, there is an estimate that Iran has transferred to Hezbollah the “Khalij Fars” missile, a single-stage ballistic missile against naval targets, which has a range of about 400 km and may soon reach up to 700 km. It has a combat warhead of 650 kg, and a homing system is integrated into it that allows it to reach an accuracy of eight and a half meters.

The IDF also warns that the spectrum of maritime threats to the State of Israel, both direct and indirect, has expanded. Today, the threats include Iraq, Yemen, Syria, Lebanon and Gaza, but above all – the threat from Iran has increased. Therefore, there is an intention to increase the engagement in it, with an emphasis on the naval arena. One of the focuses of the defense establishment’s attention today is civilian-Iranian ships that have been converted for military activity in the Red Sea, and include surface-to-sea missiles, surface-to-air missiles, and unmanned aerial vehicles. Therefore, the navy is already operating today Against Iran and Yemen and beyond.
