The Land Covenant:
The fundamental Scriptural basis for the Jews returning to their homeland someday after the Diaspora (586 B.C.) is found in the Land Covenant (Deuteronomy29:1-30:20). Some have called this covenant the Palestinian Covenant. It is highly inappropriate to refer to this covenant or the geographic region as Palestine. This name was given to the Land after the Bar Kochba rebellion in A.D. 132-135 by the Roman emperor Hadrian to insult the Jews and de-Judaize the Land. Also, since it was miss-named Palestine for centuries certain Arab groups have now adopted it. Some nevertheless continue to incorrectly call the Land Covenant the Palestinian Covenant.
