(The following was written by Anthony Todd:)
The problem with Christians who think they can lose their salvation, is that they error in thinking that THEY (YOU) can maintain or keep their salvation; YOU CAN’T DO SO, that is why God SEALED YOU, making it impossible for you to lose your salvation no matter how often you fail or sin. If you could have lost your salvation, if you could break the seal, you would have lost your salvation a LONG TIME AGO (and according to how you people tend to wrongly interpret Hebrews 6:3-4, NEVER GET IT BACK)…
If you are truly born-again, and are truly a Christian, you salvation is sealed…
“In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.” – Ephesians 1:13
Sealed really means SEALED; something that is established and cannot ever be broken. It is God who keeps us in Him, NOT OUR POWER doing so…
“For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.” – Philippians 2:13
Note: “God works in us to BOTH TO WILL AND TO DO…” What is God’s good pleasure? That we endure to the end!
In other words, a Christian is empowered by the Holy Spirit to endure to the end, and the Holy Spirit will not fail, or fail in YOU.
Also, I am not trying to make an excuse for sinning, on the contrary; being empowered by the Holy Spirit to “BOTH TO WILL AND TO DO” is the power NOT TO SIN, and walk Holy before a Holy God!
>> Sealed really does mean SEALED, and SECURE, UNBREAKABLE, CANNOT BE LOST. Unless you think you can unseal what God has sealed? You can’t!
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
