The Proving of the Truth
The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. (Ps. 12:6)
Peter writes, “That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perishes, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ. (I Peter 1:7) We often think of the trial of faith as a trying of US. There is some Truth in that. We do have to choose. But in the end, the trial of faith is the trial of the Truth. Is what I believe about God the Truth? Isn’t that often the issue in a trial? Thus, in a trial God is proving the Truth as much as He is proving us.God is building the Truth in us so that the faith that is based on that Truth might become strong.
Do you want more faith? Ask God to build in you more Truth. Faith will come if we hear the Truth that God reveals and builds in us through the revelation of His Son, Jesus Christ.
