It has been a while since I have posted on “The Word on Politics” Blog. Yet, our world continues to change dramatically before our very eyes. Clearly, the stage is being set for our Lord’s soon return. Consequently, on our “Pastors’ Point of View” Program we began a series of studies entitled “The Seven Signs of Christ’s Soon Return.” Interestingly, Jesus held the religious leaders of His day accountable for understanding the signs related to His First Advent. Matthew 16:1-3 says,
“The Pharisees and Sadducees came up, and testing Jesus, they asked Him to show them a sign from heaven. But He replied to them, “When it is evening, you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red.’ And in the morning, ‘There will be a storm today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ Do you know how to discern the appearance of the sky, but cannot discern the signs of the times?”
Christ’s rebuke was a simple and direct one. Why is it that they can understand weather patterns, such as “red sky in the morning, sailor take warning,“ and yet cannot understand the biblical and spiritual signs related to the coming of their own Messiah? Given the fact that there are far more signs to look for for the Second Advent of Christ, how much more accountable is the current generation for knowing the signs of the times? In this series, we have completed the first two of the seven major signs. Because they involve political trends, I share them with you here in the six Youtube links below. The first major sign revolves around the rebirth of the modern state of Israel. The second major sign involves the political trend amongst the Gentile leaders of the world not only to align themselves against Israel, but also to move aggressively in the direction of one world government. These signs are clearly manifesting themselves in the present day. We hope that you will enjoy these presentations as you allow the Holy Spirit to equip you concerning the season of time in which we find ourselves.
