Things to Ponder

I think this is something we all face pretty much on a daily basis. We find ourselves doing and saying things out from ourselves and then we are tempted to think that God is displeased with us and has backed away. I have begun to see that this is unbelief. We still think that we are disappointing God when the flesh shows its ugly head. Actually He knows that we are capable of far worse than we think. But faith says, I may be as wrong as wrong can be, but Jesus Christ is my righteousness and my life. It is a very subtle form of unbelief, and a great tool of the enemy, to get us to a focus on our failures, instead of acknowledging them to Him and then leaving ourselves alone to go on with Him. To receive condemnation and fear is to fall into unbelief and out of resting in Him. To think that He has withdrawn from us is also unbelief. To fully believe in who God really is and to live accordingly, is to walk by faith. Without this kind of faith, it is impossible to please God.

We love our Lord and want to please Him, so when we think or do something that isn’t pleasing to Him we feel guilty convicted, and we try sometimes to “fix’ it ourselves.. to no avail…. but realize how very blessed we are that we do feel conviction and we know that even when we do mess up God loves us and has forgiven us… look at all the poor souls that don’t have God or ever feel His presence, only because of their unbelief… we know even in the lowest moments and when we feel God is the farthest away, we know deep down He’s right here.. so until the Lord comes we travel on moment by moment, trusting and focusing and believing in all the promises and love the Lord has given us.
