Seven of the 12-man Hamas terrorist cell orchestrating operations against Israel from Istanbul have been granted Turkish citizenship, the London Telegraph reports. The passports in process for the entire cell afford them the freedom to travel to and operate from other countries. Some are living under Turkish aliases. The Palestinian Hamas is designated a terrorist organization by the US and the EU and its “armed wing” has been banned in Britain. Israel has repeatedly complained about the blind eye the Erdogan government turns to Hamas illicit activities from Turkish soil. Ankara replies that Hamas is “a legitimate political movement democratically elected in the Palestinian territory of Gaza.”
