Death toll likely to rise as more casualties are found, head of military security rumored to be among victims

Twin suicide attacks on security service bases in the heart of Syria’s government-held third city of Homs killed 35 people on Saturday, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

The attacks reportedly hit the headquarters of state security and military intelligence in two central districts.

“The number of fatalities has reached 35 people, dozens are wounded. A total of over six suicide bombers blew themselves up near two security facilities,” a source familiar with the matter told the Russion RIA Novosti on Saturday.

According to RT, General Hassan Daaboul, the chief of the provincial military security unit, is said to be among the victims.
