US official: US pressure on Israel will begin after passage of budget

The Biden administration is interested in the continued existence of the Bennett-Lapid government, and is therefore expected to continue to provide it with a warm attitude and a comfortable space for activity at this stage, says a senior US official close to the White House quoted by Israel Hayom.

According to the senior official, the government is interested in maintaining the current coalition in Israel, so it is not expected to make difficulties or present rigid demands to it, until it approves the state budget. “The administration understands that the transfer of the budget is a touchstone for the government’s survival, so until it is approved – they do not intend to cause shocks that would endanger its existence,” the source said.
