On Sunday, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi told the BBC that Iran is ready to consider compromising on its nuclear stance if the US will do the same regarding its sanctions.
“We are ready to discuss this and other issues related to our programme if they are ready to talk about sanctions,” Takht-Ravanchi told the BBC, pointing to Tehran’s willingness to dilute its enriched uranium as evidence.
The ball is “in America’s court to prove that they want to do a deal,” Takht-Ravanchi said, adding that “If they are sincere, I’m sure we will be on the road to an agreement.”
The deputy’s comments follow those made by Trump to reporters on Friday, when he explained that Iran would need to “give us the right deal,” one that includes nuclear compromise, in order to prevent the United States from attacking.
US, Ukraine, Russia representatives to meet later
Witkoff and Kushner will then participate in trilateral talks with representatives from Russia and Ukraine in the afternoon, the source said.
US President Donald Trump is also trying to coax Ukraine and Russia into an agreement to end Moscow’s four-year-old invasion of Ukraine.
Earlier this month, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky told reporters that the United States wants Russia and Ukraine to find a solution on how to end the war, the largest since World War II, before the summer.
