The US will host a conference in Bahrain next month focused on the economic aspects of the peace plan
US President Donald Trump’s son-in-law and assistant Jared Kushner has departed on a trip to Morocco, Jordan and Israel, the White House said Tuesday, signalling a fresh round of talks on a proposed US Mideast peace plan.
Kushner is accompanied by Jason Greenblatt, Trump’s special representative to international negotiations, and Brian Hook, the special US representative for Iran, the White House said.
They “will travel from May 27 to May 31 to Rabat, Amman, and Jerusalem,” said a White House official speaking on condition of anonymity.

The United States will host a conference in Bahrain next month focused on the economic aspects of Trump’s long-awaited Israel-Palestinian peace plan, which aim to achieve Palestinian prosperity in an attempt to persuade the Palestinians to make larger political compromises in the future.
The workshop co-organized with Manama, running June 25-26, will bring together government, civil society and business leaders.
“The ‘Peace to Prosperity’ workshop is a pivotal opportunity… to share ideas, discuss strategies and galvanize support for potential economic investments and initiatives that could be made possible by a peace agreement,” the two countries said in a joint statement earlier this month.
After announcing the conference in Bahrain, Kushner said said it would be an “opportunity to present our ideas for creating greater economic vibrancy in the region.”
“The Palestinian people, along with all people in the Middle East, deserve a future with dignity and the opportunity to better their lives,” he added.
The Palestinian leadership, however, officially confirmed they would not attend the US-led peace conference on June 25-26.
