I. THE WOMAN JEZEBEL | REVELATION 2:18–29
The first of these four women is the woman Jezebel. The seven churches of the Book of Revelation represent seven periods of the history of the visible church. The particular period that this passage deals with is the period of the Dark Ages (600–1517).
II. THE SUN-CLOTHED WOMAN | REVELATION 12:1–17
The second woman represents the nation of Israel. She is introduced by dealing with Israel in the Tribulation. This chapter can be divided into three main units: the summary of Satan’s persecution of Israel, the reason for Satan’s persecution of Israel, and the details of Satan’s persecution of Israel.
III. THE GREAT HARLOT | REVELATION 17:1–18
This third woman represents Ecclesiastical Babylon, the one world religious system that will be in effect during the Great Tribulation. This chapter can be divided into six units: the description of the harlot, the crime of the harlot, the governmental system, the meaning of the term “many waters,” the destruction of the harlot, and the abode of the harlot.
IV. THE BRIDE AND WIFE OF THE MESSIAH | REVELATION 19:6–9; 21:9–22:5
