As the landmark Israel-UAE peace deal is put in the works, news awaits on the next Arab nation to possibly strike a deal with the Jewish state.
On Tuesday, US State Secretary Mike Pompeo made an historic direct flight to Sudan from Israel, to discuss potential normalization of ties between the two countries.
Speaking to Israel’s public broadcaster Kan, an American anonymous source said that “positive developments are expected in regards to Israeli-Sudanese relations. Things are moving in a positive direction.
“The meetings have allowed us to ‘roll up sleeves’ and get to work. We believe things will indeed happen, but as always it is a matter of time,” he stipulated.

While Sudan’s Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok was on quote saying his transitional government doesn’t have the mandate to strike an accord with Jerusalem, a Sudanese journalist spoke to i24NEWS, asserting normalization is bound to occur in the long run.
“Later or sooner [it will happen],” reporter Ezaldin Arbab told The Rundown on Tuesday night. “Sudan is going to normalize relations with Israel because… there is a new regime in Sudan… and people are hoping that Sudan will open to the world and normalize relations with any first world country.”
Arbab stressed that Sudan is no longer like the Sudan of the past of former president “Omar Al-Bashir. Now there is a new Sudan, and I think that in five or three years even, Sudan is going to normalize relations with Israel.”
