World is Coming Unraveled

Gary M. Fisher

If you’re getting the sense that things are coming unraveled, it is because things are coming unraveled and you are not alone.
The average person is sensing an unprecedented level of insecurity about the world around us. Our daily news is filled with crime, political tensions, scandal, and moral rot. There is a spirit of unhappy almost all over the world. Tensions are high resulting in rioting and protests.

The Bible speaking of the end-time generation says this: “But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God…” (2 Tim 3:1-5). Soundfamiliar?

Lawlessness and rebellion is rapidly becoming the norm
as a result of the acceleration of these end-time characteristics. It brings little comfort, but we are warned that the end times, just before the return of Jesus, would be just like the “days of Noah”. (Matthew 24:37). Those days are described in the Book of Genesis. “Now the earth was corrupt in the sight of God, and the earth was filled with violence. God looked on the earth, and behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way upon the earth.” (Gen 6:11-12).
Jesus also warned, “And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the
waves roaring; Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth…” (Luke 21:25-26).\

Lawlessness is preparing the world for a ruler God calls Antichrist. He is even called the “man of lawlessness” (2 Thessalonians 2:3 NASB). The prophet Daniel said “he will intend to make alterations in times and in law”. (Dan 7:25). His reign is described in detail in Revelation 6-19. His time approaches. What does all this mean? It means that the return of Jesus also approaches and there is hope. He will put an end to the Antichrist’s short rule, then set up His long-awaited Kingdom that executes peace, righteousness, and justice (Isaiah 65, Amos 8, Micah 4). The whole world is groaning and travailing waiting for this redemption (Romans 8:22). Those who love Him can’t wait!
