Zarif: Iran is not seeking confrontation, but will not escape defending itself.

Iranian FM attacks Israeli, US, Saudi and Abu Dhabi officials (B-Team), warns President Trump of the “conniving cabal of warmongers and butchers” plot; Zarif on Syria: We will not simply abandon that fight; Syrian, Russian, Iranian and Turkish delegations in Kazakhstan for Syria talks.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Zarif claimed Israel and Saudi Arabia are flaming a regional conflict and using the United States for its endeavors. His remarks on Wednesday from a UN interview in New York were shared directly to the minister’s Twitter where declared on Thursday, “After a wink at the dismembering of a journalist, not a whisper from the Trump Administration when Saudi Arabia beheads 37 men in one day—even crucifying one two days after Easter. Membership in the B-team—Bolton, Bin Salman, Bin Zayed & “Bibi”- gives immunity for any crime.” He was referring to President Trump’s National Advisor John Bolton, Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Abu Dhabi’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed.

He went on to warn President Trump to be “careful” stating “You campaigned against costly stupid interventions. The conniving cabal of warmongers and butchers, the infamous B-Team are plotting for way more than what you bargained for.” While Zarif claimed he did not think President Trump is seeking a war with Iran, it “doesn’t exclude him being basically lured into one,” by Bolton and regional allies. He further claimed, “Those who have designed the policies that are being pursued do not simply want a negotiated solution,” Zarif claiming, “but let me make it clear that Iran is not seeking confrontation, but will not escape defending itself.”

The United States’ sanctions on the Islamic Republic, its labeling of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist organization and recent announcement on ending sanction waivers for countries buying Iranian oil are succeeding in affecting Iran’s economy. Zarif reacted to the United States’ recent efforts to combat Iran’s nuclear and missile programs stating “We will exercise prudence but it doesn’t mean that if the United States changed the rules of the game, or changed the rules of engagement, it would be able to get away with that.”

On Syria, the minister reiterated Iran’s claims that it “will not simply abandon that fight.” His remarks follow a recent visit to Syria where he met with regime President Bashar al-Assad, their meeting centered on the “importance of lasting communication between Damascus and Tehran for continued cooperation.” He then met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan ahead of the next round of talks with Russia on Syria in Kazakhstan today. Syrian, Russian, Iranian and Turkish representatives and officials are meeting in Nur-Sultan Thursday into Friday.
