The Sin Bearer

Reflections Behold the Lamb of God, which takes away the sin of the world. (John 1:29) What did Jesus bear on the Cross? Peter writes, “Who His own self bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness. (I Peter 2:24) Jesus bore our sins on the Cross – in doing so, Jesus took away the sin of the world. Contrast this over and against what many of us have believed: That Jesus merely bore our punishment FOR sin, and thus, Jesus took away our punishment. Now, don’t misunderstand …

GOD IS NOT A RECLUSE

“For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly” (Romans 5:6 KJV) Watching television, reading a newspaper, and/or scanning social media websites, you immediately recognize abundant negativity and distress. People immaturely bickering about stupid topics, calling others names to no purpose. Individuals harming others (robberies, murders, kidnappings, and so on). Trouble brewing at a local church once known for its loving atmosphere. A dysfunctional family waxing worse and worse. Economic, political, environmental, healthcare, and social woes. No matter the country, what a depressing state of affairs! I recently read online, “The more I deal …

Whose Battle?

“And all this assembly shall know that the LORD saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the LORD’s, and He will give you into our hands” (1 Samuel 17:47). Let this point be settled, that the battle is the LORD’s, and we may be quite sure of the victory, and of the victory in such a way as will best of all display the power of God. The LORD is too much forgotten by all men, yea, even by the assemblies of Israel; and when there is an opportunity to make men see that the great First …

36 Millennial Kingdom & The King

In the 36th message of the book of Zechariah we see descriptions of the massive changes in natural phenomena of the earth as the Millennial Kingdom of our Lord is established on earth. This is exactly what the Lord Jesus told His apostles and us to pray for when He said, “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven” (Matthew 6:10). Our text here describes the general age of the Day of the Lord which here is characterized as “That Day.” This description encompasses the entire period from the beginning of the Tribulation on through the establishment and extent of the Messianic Kingdom and Eternal Order. In short it is when God takes His earth back from the evil forces, which have influenced it for at least six thousand years. As the Tribulation ends, the Lord Jesus returns, and the seventy-five day interval ends a spectacular series of events occurs in the heavens. All natural light from the sun, the moon and the stars cease to give their light for a time. This has happened before when God was doing some miraculous activity associated with His massive changes in the order of the earth.
