“In Christ Alone”

Lamentations 3:24
I say to myself, “The LORD is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.”

1 Timothy 4:9-10
This is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance (and for this we labor and strive), that we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, and especially of those who believe.
He is my light, my strength, my song;

Exodus 15:1-2
Then Moses and the Israelites sang this song to the LORD :
“I will sing to the LORD, for he is highly exalted.
The horse and its rider he has hurled into the sea.
The LORD is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation.
He is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will exalt him.
This cornerstone, this solid ground,

Ephesians 2:19-22
Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God’s people and members of God’s household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm.

1 Corinthians 3:11
For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.
What heights of love, what depths of peace,

1 John 4:10
This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease!

1 John 4:18
There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
My comforter, my all in all—

Colossians 3:11
Here there is no Greek or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all.
Here in the love of Christ I stand.

Galatians 2:20
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Ten Lepers Cleansed – Luke 17: 11-21

11 “While He was on the way to Jerusalem, He was passing between Samaria and Galilee. 12 As He entered a village, ten leprous men who stood at a distance met Him; 13 and they raised their voices, saying, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!” 14 When He saw them, He said to them, “Go and show yourselves to the priests.” And as they were going, they were cleansed. 15 Now one of them, when he saw that he had been healed, turned back, glorifying God with a loud voice, 16 and he fell on his face at His …

Avoid That Slip

“Then shalt thou walk in thy way of safety, and thy foot shall not stumble” (Proverbs 3:23). That is to say, if we follow the ways of wisdom and holiness we shall be preserved in them. He who travels by daylight along the highway is under some protection. There is a way for every man, namely, his own proper calling in life, and if we devoutly walk therein in the fear of God He will preserve us from evil. We may not travel luxuriously, but we shall walk safely. We may not be able to run like young men, but …

Inadequacy as a Barrier

We may feel inadequate, but the Holy Spirit is more than capable of achieving a God-given task through us Ephesians 3:14 – 3:21 14 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, 16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; 17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 May be able to comprehend …

3 REASONS WE DIE

Why Believers Can’t Avoid Death By Charles F. Stanley As God’s beloved children, we may wonder why we have to experience death. After all, if Jesus saved us and all our sins are forgiven, shouldn’t we then be able to avoid death—a consequence of sin? What we must understand is that death is not a punishment for believers, because Jesus bore the full penalty for our sins when He died on the cross. However, God allows our physical bodies to die because: We live in a fallen world. When sin entered this world, so did disease, evil, and death. Even …

LAMB OF GOD

Jesus Christ, the lion who became a lamb, came to find and rescue us. Revelation 7:17 (KJV) 17 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes. Bumblebees and badgers, lions and skunks, black bears and beagles all have one thing in common: If threatened, they will sting, bite, spray, or maul you. But there’s this predictable trait about lambs: They never attack; instead, throughout history wolves and other predators have attacked them. When lambs are …

The purpose of life

The purpose of life in THIS age is to have Christ formed in us in preparation for the NEXT age. It is through this that God will ultimately have His full will in all creation. In this age, God is bringing us into a greater inward realization of His Son. Thus, this is worked out as we lose our lives into His hands in order that Christ might be our life — all unto becoming those who can be vessels through whom the Treasure is manifested — now and eternally. Everything God is doing is unto that end — He …

Life From Death

Reflections If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross. (Matt. 27:40) Natural thinking insists that in order to LIVE we must come down from our Cross. But the Truth is, in order to LIVE we must die on the Cross and be raised. Jesus said as much “Whoever would save His life will lose it. But whoever would lose His life for My sake will find it.” (Matt. 16:24) Grasp this Truth and your entire Christian life will be changed. You will stop asking God to help you save your life for yourself – you will …

Moses made an end of speaking.” Deuteronomy 32:45

So we all shall do some day. Moses knew it was the end for him; we may not know when our end is at hand. Any word of ours, spoken amid glee and merriment, may be our last!! If we always thought of this—would it not make us more careful? Would we ever say an unkind word to a friend, if we felt that we may never have an opportunity to unsay it or repent of it? Would we ever utter an angry, untrue, or unclean word—if we only remembered that it may be the last utterance our lips shall …

“HOSANNA!”

His people thought they were choosing their king, but God was choosing their Lamb. Mark 11:7-10 (KJV) 7 And they brought the colt to Jesus, and cast their garments on him; and he sat upon him. 8 And many spread their garments in the way: and others cut down branches off the trees, and strawed them in the way. 9 And they that went before, and they that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna; Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord: 10 Blessed be the kingdom of our father David, that cometh in the name of the Lord: …

Fake Faith

Reflections Wherefore let him that thinks he stands take heed lest he fall. (1 Cor 10:12) Paul is not exhorting us to make sure we are strong enough to stand. Rather, he is telling us to make sure that our faith is in Jesus Christ — rather than in ourselves, or in something else. If your faith is in yourself, you may for a time think you stand. But your faith is NOT real. It is fake; a façade. The only real faith is faith in Jesus Christ, because He is the only One who is faithful and true. God …
