The Passover Lamb Washed in the Blood. .

Jack Kinsella The Passover story is well known to Christians, primarily as a Jewish holiday. But the Jewish Passover is an integral part of the Christian story. Without Passover, there could be no salvation for the Gentiles. At Passover, Jews are asked to see the story as if each of them had been there that night in Egypt. Traditional foods are prepared in advance according to the Haggadah or story of the Exodus. With the Haggadah as a guide, Passover has been and is celebrated in pretty much the same manner down through the ages and in every land and …

Genesis Msg 7 God Turns from Creating and Begins Making

In this video Dr Woodhead discusses God Moving from creating to making. God begins to “make” from His creation. He makes man and the animals from the ground. Genesis 2: 19 affirms what has been stated here in verse twenty-four, the “earth brought forth.” He makes three categories of beings here all after their kind. They are cattle, creeping things, and the beasts of the earth. Each of these terms references a larger group. Cattle, for example is a general term for domesticated animals. Some of these would include sheep, horses, dogs etc. Creeping things would include all reptiles and …

Outside My Window

Dr. Mike Murphy As I look outside my window, I see the sun begin to rise.  The colors that fill my sight as the sun peeks over the horizon, makes me pause.  It sparkles through the leaves of the trees, and it glistens off the dew, reflecting with a brilliance that captures my eyes.  As the sun continues to rise, it reveals to me the beauty of this world around me.  Each moment seizes my sight with the uniqueness of this creation, and shows its’ purpose in each passing second of this day.  As I look outside my window, I …

“I know that my Redeemer liveth.”—Job 19:25.

THE marrow of Job’s comfort lies in that little word “My”—”My Redeemer,” and in the fact that the Redeemer lives. Oh! to get hold of a living Christ. We must get a property in Him before we can enjoy Him. What is gold in the mine to me? Men are beggars in Peru, and beg their bread in California. It is gold in my purse which will satisfy my necessities, by purchasing the bread I need. So a Redeemer who does not redeem me, an avenger who will never stand up for my blood, of what avail were such? Rest …

NOTHING CAN SEPARATE US

Romans 8:32-39(KJV) 32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? 33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth. 34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, …

Genesis Msg 6 Creation of Sea Life and Birds

In this video Dr Woodhead discusses the creation of the sea and bird life. The Hebrew word for soul is nephish and it refers to the fact that there is some consciousness with these creatures as opposed to plant life. The great sea monsters included here is a Hebrew word tannin. This is also the first instance of God speaking to someone else. God blessed the birds and sea creatures. The medieval Jewish rabbis believed that God blessed them since they would be hunted and eaten later.   Watch this video on YouTube

What does 2 Timothy 4:3 mean by itching ears?

Answer: The apostle Paul wrote a warning for the church: “The time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear” (2 Timothy 4:3). The Greek word translated “itching” literally means “to itch, rub, scratch, or tickle.” To want one’s ears “tickled” is to desire massages rather than messages—sermons that charm rather than challenge, entertain rather than edify, and please rather than preach. The people Paul warns about will have, as one commentator …

Seeking Guidance: The Pattern

When we believe that God’s will is best and yield to Him unconditionally, we are ready to hear His voice   Matthew 7:7 – 7:8 7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. As we’ve seen, there is a pattern to seeking God’s guidance. The first step—cleansing—is actually important throughout the entire process. In fact, all but one of the remaining steps have no particular order …

“That through death He might destroy him that had the power of death.”—Hebrews 2:14.

O child of God, death hath lost its sting, because the devil’s power over it is destroyed. Then cease to fear dying. Ask grace from God the Holy Ghost, that by an intimate knowledge and a firm belief of thy Redeemer’s death, thou mayst be strengthened for that dread hour. Living near the cross of Calvary thou mayst think of death with pleasure, and welcome it when it comes with intense delight. It is sweet to die in the Lord: it is a covenant-blessing to sleep in Jesus. Death is no longer banishment, it is a return from exile, a …
