Seeing Jesus Christ

Reflections Seeing Jesus Christ But the natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. (1 Cor. 2:14) Natural man cannot receive the things of God – he has no frame of reference — because natural man, left to himself, does not know Jesus Christ. All discernment in the Christian life is the product of knowing and seeing Jesus Christ. HE is the Light and the Truth. Left to myself, my natural man will instead accept as the Truth whatever my makeup …

Pondering Thoughts

Pondering Thoughts I have been born from above Christ lives in me. I still have the old man operating in the flesh. I realize that I don’t want to give up that part of me. I also realize I don’t have the faith I say I do. My flesh is saying to me God cannot give you what I can. This is a lie. I know this. I’m bringing this lie of darkness into the light so it does not have it’s power over me. My flesh is calling God a liar and I weep over this. It is a …

“Get thee up into the high mountain.” Isaiah 40:9

“Get thee up into the high mountain.” Isaiah 40:9   Our knowledge of Christ is somewhat like climbing one of our Welsh mountains. When you are at the base you see but little: the mountain itself appears to be but one-half as high as it really is. Confined in a little valley, you discover scarcely anything but the rippling brooks as they descend into the stream at the foot of the mountain. Climb the first rising knoll, and the valley lengthens and widens beneath your feet. Go higher, and you see the country for four or five miles round, and …

Question: “Who will occupy the Millennial Kingdom?”

Question: “Who will occupy the Millennial Kingdom?” Answer: There will be two distinct groups occupying the Earth during the millennial kingdom—those with glorified bodies, and those with earthly bodies who lived through the tribulation and on into the millennial kingdom. Those with glorified bodies consist of the Church, receiving glorified bodies at the rapture (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 1 Corinthians 15:21-23, 51-53), and those who are resurrected after Christ returns to Earth (Revelation 20:4-6). Those who have earthly bodies can be subdivided into two groups: believing Gentiles and believing Jews (Israel). In Revelation 19:11-16, we find the return of Jesus Christ …

25 Mosaic Law Provided no Salvation

The Mosaic Law offered a mere likeness (shadow) of what was to come through the Lord Jesus. Now there is direct access to God. The Old Law was not the final plan and it was never able to provide final perfect cleansing from sin. If sacrifices could have made people perfect they would not have had to repeat them year after year and there would have been no need for a Redeemer to come. The endless sacrifices never removed the people’s sin in the eyes of God and it left them with their guilt. God never took pleasure in the …

When I finally saw Jesus face to face, I began to see life as it is and should be, up close and personal… I began to see beauty in simple things everywhere! Every breath, every smile, every gesture.. I started striving for truth and it slowly begins to emerge like a soft breeze blowing in just when I needed it most.. I saw Him in people places and little things that graced my days.. When I finally gave it all to God, He began to unveil Himself and His plan and slowly I started to see the gifts of His …

“A certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked. But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.” Luke 11:27-28

“A certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked. But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.” Luke 11:27-28 It is fondly imagined by some that it must have involved very special privileges to have been the mother of our Lord, because they supposed that she had the benefit of looking into his very heart in a way in which we cannot hope to do. There may be an appearance of plausibility …

God Is With Us in Hard Times

Joseph’s life reminds us that suffering often causes our faith, our character, and God’s kingdom to grow God Is With Us in Hard Times GENESIS 41:14-44 14 Then Pharaoh sent and called for Joseph, and they hurriedly brought him out of the dungeon; and when he had shaved himself and changed his clothes, he came to Pharaoh. 15 Pharaoh said to Joseph, I have had a dream, but no one can interpret it; and I have heard it said about you, that when you hear a dream you can interpret it.” 16 Joseph then answered Pharaoh, saying, It is not …

“His Eye Is On The Sparrow”

Matthew 10:29 – 10:31 29 Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. 30 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. “His Eye Is On The Sparrow” Why should I feel discouraged Why should the shadows come Why should my heart feel lonely And long for heaven and home When Jesus is my portion A constant friend is he His eye is on the sparrow And I know he watches over me His eye is on the sparrow And I know he watches me …

“Ephraim, he hath mixed himself among the people; Ephraim is a cake not turned.”— Hosea 7:8

“Ephraim, he hath mixed himself among the people; Ephraim is a cake not turned.”— Hosea 7:8 A cake not turned is uncooked on one side; and so Ephraim was, in many respects, untouched by divine grace: though there was some partial obedience, there was very much rebellion left. My soul, I charge thee, see whether this be thy case. Art thou thorough in the things of God? Has grace gone through the very centre of thy being so as to be felt in its divine operations in all thy powers, thy actions, thy words, and thy thoughts? To be sanctified, …

Damascus Became a Ruinous Heap

DAMASCENE PROPHECIES Assyrian Besiegers Isaiah 17:1-3 1The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap. 2The cities of Aroer are forsaken; they shall be for flocks, which shall lie down, and none shall make them afraid. 3And the fortress shall cease from Ephraim, and the kingdom from Damascus, and the remnant of Syria; they shall be as the glory of the children of Israel, saith Jehovah of hosts (ASV, 1901). This prophecy of Damascus, Syria is titled a burden or in the Hebrew a “massa.” This is a heavy, …

“That those things which cannot be shaken may remain.” Hebrews 12:27

“That those things which cannot be shaken may remain.” Hebrews 12:27 We have many things in our possession at the present moment which can be shaken, and it ill becomes a Christian man to set much store by them, for there is nothing stable beneath these rolling skies; change is written upon all things. Yet, we have certain “things which cannot be shaken,” and I invite you this evening to think of them, that if the things which can be shaken should all be taken away, you may derive real comfort from the things that cannot be shaken, which will …

Waiting for Answers to Prayer

Waiting on the Lord isn’t easy, but His motive for delay is always loving. Waiting for Answers to Prayer Psalm 33:20-22 20 Our soul waiteth for the Lord: he is our help and our shield. 21 For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name. 22 Let thy mercy, O Lord, be upon us, according as we hope in thee. Scripture makes it clear that our heavenly Father hears and answers prayer. Yet, though we pray for the Lord to act right away, we’ve all known times when we’ve had to wait. What are …
