The Wise Shall Understand

By Pete GarciaApril 12, 2019 by Pete Garcia- Originally written 12 June, 2013 (updated 2019) But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase. Daniel 12:4 Imagine if you will that one-day scientists abandon the flawed and completely […]

He Remembers No More

“For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more” (Jeremiah 31:34). When we know the LORD, we receive the forgiveness of sins. We know Him as the God of grace, passing by our transgressions. What a joyful discovery is this! But how divinely is this promise worded: the LORD promises no more to remember our sins! Can God forget? He says He will, and He means what He says. He will regard us as though we had never sinned. The great atonement so effectually removed all sin that it is to the mind of God …

JUDGMENT FOR BELIEVERS

2 Corinthians 5:1-10 (KJV) 5 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven:3 If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked.4 For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.5 Now he that hath wrought us for …

The Olive Tree Anti-Semitism and Bible Prophecy

THE OLIVE TREE, ANTI-SEMITISM AND BIBLE PROPHECY Dr. Thomas S. McCall At a convention of the Pre-Trib Study Group in Dallas, Dr. John Walvoord presented a paper on the Pre-Tribulation Rapture and Premillennial teaching, including the history of doctrines throughout the Church age.  I was very much struck by something that Dr. Walvoord said […]

Through Troubled Waters

When hardship skews our judgment, we can depend on the Holy Spirit and Scripture to guide us in truth Psalms Chapter 251 (A Psalm of David.) Unto thee, O LORD, do I lift up my soul.2 O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.3 Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which transgress without cause.4 Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths.5 Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee …

Divine Goodness

Mark 3:5 “And when He had looked around at them with anger, being grieved by the hardness of their hearts, He said to the man, ‘Stretch out your hand.’ And he stretched it out, and his hand was restored as whole as the other.’” _____________________________________________________________Jesus, angry? This is the divine Lord, the merciful Jesus who is meek and lowly in heart. Yet, this was a rare moment…He was indeed angry. What could have upset Him so much? Jesus had trafficked all around the farm country of Galilee healing the sick, raising the dead and cleansing the leprous. He now had come …

Godly Suffering

The Reasons for Suffering Hebrews 12:5–6   5and ye have forgotten the exhortation which reasoneth with you as with sons, My son, regard not lightly the chastening of the Lord, Nor faint when thou art reproved of him; 6For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, And scourgeth every son whom he receiveth (KJV).   It […]

Conviction vs. Condemnation

Reflections (The Spirit of God) will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment. (John 16:8) There is NO condemnation for those in Christ Jesus. (Rom. 8:1) God never condemns the redeemed. But God does convict of sin, righteousness, and judgment.Conviction from God is never condemnation. While BOTH condemnation and conviction do carry a sense of hopelessness within ourselves – and that is the Truth — we are hopeless if left to ourselves — condemnation leaves us there without resolution. Conviction, on the other hand, will always carry a realization of God’s forgiveness and restoration through Jesus …

Easter Eggs

By Pete Garcia -April 8, 20190331 For many of my more seasoned readers, the term Easter eggs is often associated with the wistful, nonsensical, and commercialized holiday that has been seemingly absconded by non-Christians so they do not feel left out in what orthodox Christians consider the most holy of holidays. This begins with Palm Sunday and run through Resurrection Sunday. However, in the modern vernacular, and in particular, this article, the Easter egg refers to what has become the modern adaptation of it…i.e., the hidden symbols, references, pictures, etc., that are now seemingly commonplace in more and more films/movies in production today. These Easter eggs often either …

Does the Bible instruct us to have childlike faith?

Answer: Unquestionably, faith is the essence of the Christian life. Faith is exhorted throughout the Bible and is presented as an absolute necessity. In fact, “without faith, it is impossible to please God” (Hebrews 11:6). The entire chapter of Hebrews 11 is about faith and those who possessed it. Faith is a gift from God, as we see in Ephesians 2:8–9 and not something we come up with on our own. All Christians have received the gift of faith from God, and faith is part of the armor of God—the shield with which we protect ourselves from the “flaming arrows of …

THE GOD WHO SAVES

Ephesians 2:8-9 (KJV)8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. Recently I was talking with a man about his spiritual life. When I asked, “Are you saved?” he answered, “No, but I’m working at it.” When I pressed him, he explained that he was making some changes in his life. He had given up smoking and drinking, among other things. I knew I should help him understand a few important principles, as he was making some incorrect assumptions. This gentleman …
