Bright Hope in Dark Days by Charles H. Spurgeon “Thou art my hope in the day of evil.” Jeremiah 17:17 The path of the Christian is not always bright with sunshine. He has his seasons of darkness and of storm. True, it is written in God’s Word, “Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace,” and it is a great truth, that religion [i.e. Biblical Christianity] is calculated to give a man happiness below as well as bliss above. But experience tells us that if the course of the just be “As the shining light that …

Ephesians 4   Walk in Unity 17 This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind, 18 having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart; 19 who, being past feeling, have given themselves over to lewdness, to work all uncleanness with greediness. all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.   Spiritual Gifts 7 But to each one of …

Live as if you thought that Christ might come at any time. Do everything, as if you did it for the last time. Say everything, as if you said it for the last time. Read every chapter in the Bible, as if you did not know whether you would be allowed to read it again. Pray every prayer, as if you felt it might be your last opportunity. Hear every sermon, as if you were hearing once and forever. This is the way to be found ready. This is the way to put on the armor of light.

What he hath done at one time, he will do yet again. Man’s ways are variable, but God’s ways are everlasting. There are many reasons for this most comforting truth: among them are the following–the Lord’s ways are the result of wise deliberation; he ordereth all things according to the counsel of his own will. Human action is frequently the hasty resultof passion, or fear, and is followed by regret and alteration; but nothing can take the Almighty by surprise, or happen otherwise than he has foreseen. His ways are the outgrowth of an immutable character, and in them the …

THE OFFICE OF PRIEST Today, Jesus no longer functions in the office of Prophet. Today, He is functioning in His second office, the office of Priest. Whereas a prophet speaks from God to man, a priest speaks for man to God. A. Description of the OfficeThe office of a priest is the office of a mediator. In the Old Testament, the mediator was required do two things. Just as a prophet’s office had two facets, foretelling and forth telling, so also the priest’s office had two facets: to sacrifice and to intercede. A priest was someone who was duly qualified …

Like Paul’s friends, we sometimes assume Christian leaders don’t need our support. 2 Timothy 4:9-189 Do thy diligence to come shortly unto me:10 For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia.11 Only Luke is with me. Take Mark, and bring him with thee: for he is profitable to me for the ministry.12 And Tychicus have I sent to Ephesus.13The cloke that I left at Troas with Carpus, when thou comest, bring with thee, and the books, but especially the parchments.14 Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil: …

Dr. Mike Murphy So many times, I have wondered what it must have been like. To have been present in the small town of Judea on that incredible night. To have watched the crowds as they filled the city. To have heard the first cry of an infant born. As those in Bethlehem that night looked into the peacefulness of the sky, I wonder if any knew how those cries would soon and forever change the world? As beautiful as the stars must have shown that night, I also wonder what the view was like that night from the midst …

Ephesians 2 By Grace Through Faith2 And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, 2 in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, 3 among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others. 4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love …

I would like to ask, for what reason did God create these perfectly balanced seasons of change and time itself?.. GENESIS 1:14_____________________________________________“Then God said, ‘Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons and, for days and years…’ “ GOD’S ETERNAL FAITHFULNESS Time passes and seasons change. Long after the physical universe ceases to exist, the presence of God’s eternal faithfulness will continue. Man in all his achievements is like a vapor before the Lord and only what the Lord has prepared will last. …

This question can be resolved by the last two verses of Daniel chapter 9, verses 26 and 27. v.26 – “And after the sixty-two weeks, the Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself; and the people of the prince who is to come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end of it shall be with a flood, and till the end of the war desolations are determined.” v.27a – “And he shall make a firm covenant with many for one week . . .” The word “week” in Hebrew is shavua which simply means ‘seven.’ From …

by Pete Garcia Hal Lindsey has been saying now for the better part of 50 years, that Christ return is imminent; but I fear that for many, apocalypse-fatigue is setting in.  The Left Behind series sparked a huge renewed interest into the idea of the Rapture, and for what follows, but even that excitement seems to have faded.  With all the geo-political, economic, and technological changes happening every day, modern man has developed an progressively short, attention span. Increasingly, we express concern over the swelling anti-Christian sentiment that is growing here in the west, and express outright shock over the brutality of …
